Questions

Before you start

Is Dividend University really free?

Yes. Every lesson, quiz and the certificate are free, with no paywall and no email required. Dividend Duel is paid for by the tools on the rest of the site, not by selling courses.

Do I need an account?

No. Your progress is saved in your browser as soon as you mark a lesson complete. If you connect a free Dividend Sync account, your progress is kept on the account instead, so it follows you to your phone or another computer. It only ever shows up here on Dividend Duel.

I've never invested before. Where should I start?

Start with What Is a Dividend? and go in order. DIV 101 assumes nothing at all, and each course builds on the one before it. If you already own dividend stocks, you can skip ahead to any course.

How long does it take?

About 10 hours of reading for all 62 lessons, or roughly 10 minutes a lesson. Most people do one or two a day.

Does it cover covered call ETFs like JEPI, QYLD and YieldMax?

Yes, in detail. DIV 202 teaches options from scratch, DIV 301 explains how option income ETFs are built, and DIV 302 covers the risks, including NAV erosion and return of capital.

Is this financial advice?

No. Dividend University is education. It explains how things work, with real examples, so you can make your own decisions or have a better conversation with a licensed adviser. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell anything.

Dividend University is for education only and is not financial, investment or tax advice. Examples use real securities to show how things work, not to recommend them. See our disclosure.
